Watch the journey of our new Collaboration Center — from groundbreaking to wall raising
Designed by the award-winning Mackenzie Architecture firm, the center is expected to open in winter 2025.
According to CIS Executive Director Patrick Priest, “One of the new Collaboration Center’s main purposes is to serve as a training center — and because the center is owned by our members, it’s truly an investment into our future.”
The new center also addresses CIS' evolving work environment. Initially, as the pandemic pushed CIS toward a more remote workforce, the CIS Board of Trustees made a strategic decision to consolidate the Salem and Tigard offices into a new Wilsonville location. As staff have returned to the office, having a single location provides more opportunities for them to work together on important issues affecting our members.
According to Patrick, this consolidation brings several advantages, such as increased staff collaboration, streamlined operations, and reduced costs.
“By going from two buildings to one, we’re better able to manage costs associated with maintaining two separate facilities,” he said. “But, equally importantly, the training center promises to be invaluable for members in their efforts to mitigate their risks.”
The 15,700-square-foot single-story building will feature a training center for members and agents, as well as offices, workspaces, and meeting rooms for CIS staff. It is located at the southwest corner of Wilsonville Road and Kinsman Road.
"We strategically selected this Wilsonville location for its accessibility to the I-5 corridor, which links us to our members," said Patrick.
When the center opens, it will bring to life our strategic vision of helping members be safer, stronger, and healthier.
